Swan(s on the) Lake...

Come on now don't be coy. Yikes! That's a snappy looking beak you have there :)

Back up a wee bit, let's have a look at you!

I can still see you...

Oh ok.. was it something I said! Went for a stroll around the lake at Mawson Park, five minutes from home on Thursday afternoon, there was a light drizzle of rain.. so refreshing in the heat. The Black Swans on the lake were at first coy, then a little too curious, snappy beaks.. and when realizing I had no food for them, uninterested.. charming! Bon weekend, take care and stay safe...

Beautiful animals - such a difference to our "boring" white ones. Love especially the second shot.

  9. I never know whether to be frightened of them or not. They look scary when close by and the beaks are very large.

  18. It's rare to see black swans around these parts so it's such a treat for me to see these guys up close and personal. It's funny how these creatures lose interest in you quickly when they figure out you are not going to feed them.

  21. Never seen a swan looking anything like that. Angry red eyes. But at first I thought the top picture was a red, white and pink sock. Must be my new contacts.
