A white Christmas, who needs it.....!

Of all the beaches in all the world Santa had to put his feet up on this one :) Spotted.. the man himself resting up before the big night on one of Perth's fabulous beaches. This poster always makes me smile, wonder if he's got a cold brew in that eski :). Bob from St. Louis asked me yesterday if Santa arrives in Perth on a surfboard or a sleigh.. I think he has surfed in at least once before but this year he's traveling by air, he probably heard that there are a few sharks lurking about out there :) With temperatures rising to 38C this weekend the chances of a white Christmas in Perth are as scarce as an honest politician.. but looking ahead we could have a wee bit of rain on the big day, we can only hope! These are just two of the cool Christmas posters around the city, fun aren't they. Happy Wednesday, take care.....

  4. I just learned last night that conditions are right for the first time in years for a white Christmas here. Whatever the weather, I'm pretty sure we can rule out 38C even with global warming. :-)

  5. You have that right. I'm wishing friends and family palm trees, hammock, and warm sunshine this Christmas.

  14. I could so get on board with a green Christmas! Winter hasn't even officially started here yet and I'm already sick of it!

  15. I always have to laugh when I see father Christmas in South East Asia in the sun under a palm tree. It is a fact of life.

  21. Those look like posters for Naples. Alas, I have to go north for Christmas. It will definitely feel and look more festive up there, but I am not looking forward to shivering in the cold.

  22. The poster made me smile too Grace. Have you seen the Aldi adds on the TV. It features a tribe of surfing Santas.

  26. I hate it when shops try to decorate with cotton wool to make us think we should have a white Christmas. I really think we should be proud of our Christmas weather and flaunt it like these posters do. Bring on more I say.

  27. Ha,ha funny pictures, we almost never have a white Christmas either here. It is mostly cold or rainy. Enjoy your sun!

  28. I love the Santa on the beach poster! You reminded me that I saw Santa last night at a local shopping center. He wasn't sitting in his big chair talking to kids, I saw him walking in the mall like he was shopping. He did say "Merry Christmas" as I walked past him.

  29. "...as scarce as an honest politician", you crack me up, Grace :-))
Yips, took the pic, too. Aww. I don´t miss the smell of the food-court, but... would love to be Santa myself this year...

I wonder why Santa is wearing winter clothes on a beach :)

  33. Pah! A wee bit of rain? Fat chance!

  34. Cute poster! I hope you get some rain. Rain following high temperatures is always such a welcome relief. Merry Christmas!

  35. Cute image and interesting idea. Never saw a Christmas In St. Louis poster.

A white Christmas is fairly rare here. What I'm worried about is New York, where we fly to on December 26. They've had some big dumps in late December in recent years.

  37. Love the bravado and fun of these signs. If only some of your heat could be blown Melbourne way. We need it desperately.
